The Polyclinique of Poitiers in partnership with the French Society of Cardiology, the cardiaque rehabilitation Centre the Moulin Vert and AVEC organized an evening of festive entertainment at the Salons de Blossac in Poitiers. Admission was free, increasing community access, and over 150 people attended.
The evening began at 18:30 with an exhibition of visual arts (sculptures and paintings) created for this occasion as part of a competition, launched in March 2018
The evening of music, dance, theatrical improvisations and a One Woman Show followed at 20:00. Professional artists from the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional staged a music-dance show around the themes of suffering, serenity and hope, all of which characterize heart failure, with works by Schnittke, Bach and Schubert. After which comedian ‘Charl’Hot’ and her One Woman Show provided fun & laughter around a theme that we do not readily associate with humor. She was followed by a brief intermission with a cocktail buffet of low-salt foods and non-alcoholic beverages. At the end of the intermission, the public was invited to return to the theater by the actors of the theater group “Quiproquos” who performed a series of improvisations involving the audience, always in a humorous form, again around the theme heart failure.
The whole evening was filmed by a professional team. Local elected officials and the mayors of Grand Poitiers, local newspapers, television & media were also invited.
