Liepāja & Riga in Latvia join the campaign

On 17th May, iHHub members coordinated an event in close collaboration with the Municipality of Liepāja City.  Deputy Mayor Gunārs Ansiņš attended the event where leading cardiologists of Latvia provided consultations and cardiac screenings for attendees.  Inese Mauriņa, Head of the European iHHub patient organization, opened the ceremony with the symbolic act of switching on the “Heart Failure Symptoms Traffic Lights.”  Heart Failure experts Dr. Ginta Kamzola and Iveta Šime led the health screening and consultation event which included blood pressure screenings, pulse checks, and assessments of cholesterol and sugar levels.  Over 100 people availed of this consultation and screening opportunity, and access to prominent cardiologists in Latvia. also collaborated with one of the largest hospitals in Riga, the capital city of Latvia.  A prominent Heart Failure awareness stand complete with campaign materials and literature is available for patients and visitors to P.Stradins Clinical University Hospital.  Furthermore, they coordinated a Heart Failure informative phone-line for two days on 22nd and 23rd May to increase awareness.  These events gained much publicity from national and regional media, expanding the reach of the campaign significantly.
